Pakistan team celebrates after taking a wicket — AFPNo player from Pakistan was included in the Women’s ODI Team of 2022, which was revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday. India’s Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the XI, who is one of the most consistent performers in world cricket.

“Kaur hit two centuries and five half-centuries during the calendar year, with her unbeaten 143* against England in September the obvious highlight. The 33-year-old also chipped in with five valuable wickets with her more than decent off-spin,” the ICC stated in a press release.

ICC Women's ODI Team of the Year — ICCApart from Kaur, two other Indian players, Smriti Mandhana and Renuka Singh, were also named in the team. Three cricketers from South Africa, Laura Wolvaardt, Ayabonga Khaka and Shabnim Ismail, are also part of the XI. “Wolvaardt hit a graceful 117 against the West Indies in Johannesburg in February and that form was replicated in New Zealand as she hit four half-centuries on the trot at the 50-over World Cup,” the ICC said.“If that wasn't enough runs to please the naysayers, Wolvaardt hit an impressive 89 against Ireland in Dublin in the middle of the year and a further two half-centuries against England away from home the following month,” it added. Australia’s Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney are also among the players in the lineup. “Healy smashed a superb 129 in the cut-throat semi-final against the West Indies and produced an even better knock of 170 in the final against England to help Australia claim yet another major trophy,” the ICC stated. “It was no surprise that Healy finished the event as the leading run scorer, with her 509 runs the most ever in a Women's 50-over World Cup.”England have two players in the team with Nat Sciver and Sophie Ecclestone representing their country. Amelia Kerr is the only player from New Zealand in the ICC Women’s ODI Team of 2022.
